A review of PROs that primarily belong to The Extended Producer Responsibility Alliance (EXPRA1) has been used to assist the Governance Group of the PPPS in making recommendations on governance arrangement for a future New Zealand scheme.
The review drew on the EXPRA membership database and the individual websites of the PROS. It is intended to provide a tableau of PRO structures and governance examples, and how they relate to ownership, membership and legislative frameworks in multiple European, South American and Canadian economies.
The review was conducted by the Independent Chair of the PPPS supported by the Project Team in April 2024 and provides a snapshot of the available information at this time.
